Karaoke is a popular form of entertainment where each song is played without the original voice and the karaoke singer, using the lyrics on a screen, sings along with the song live to the original beat. Karaoke is often performed in bars, clubs and restaurants, where people can sing and have fun together in a convivial atmosphere. Of course, you can also organise a cosy karaoke evening at home, but you will need some basic elements for this.

- A microphone, and preferably 2, so that you can also sing together.

- A screen on which the lyrics of the songs are displayed. This can be the screen of your mobile or tablet, but if everyone wants to see the lyrics properly, a TV or a projector is a better option.

- For the best experience of a karaoke night, 1 or more good speakers is necessary.

- And then, of course, you need the lyrics. Nowadays, there are several ways where you can use many thousands of lyrics for karaoke for free and paid.

Youtube

On Youtube, you can find several karaoke channels showing thousands of songs to sing along. Check out channels like KaraFun Karaoke or Sing King with millions of subscribers.

Spotify

For some time now, Spotify has offered a feature that displays the lyrics to your favourite songs. When you play a song, you will find a small microphone at the bottom right (desktop). This will display the lyrics. In the app

Apps

There are several Apps that are partially free or paid and with different options. For instance, you have the KaraFun Karaoke which has a wide range of songs. Here you can take out a (temporary) subscription to make full use of the range and different tools. Other popular apps are Starmaker, Smule and Yokee Karaoke.

Very popular, Glow in the dark parties, also called glow parties or neon parties. But what exactly is it? And how do you organise such a party?

A Glow in the dark party is a party where white and fluorescent clothes and other UV products light up in the dark by means of UV light, using blacklight lamps. For this, make sure you choose a suitable location where it is possible to make the room dark. A living room, basement or garage often lends itself perfectly to this. Also make sure there are no obstacles! Try to make the space as dark as possible, if necessary, cover the windows with dark fabric, tablecloth or else with rubbish bags.

Then it's time to dress up the space. Have fun and create your own creations! To do this, use neon paper, ribbons, balloons, paint, anything you like that lights up in the dark. You can use sheets to cover cupboards or doors and create your own work of art directly on them or stick or paint a fun text on them. Prepare a table on which you set out cups, plates, straws. But also put bracelets, necklaces, glasses ready for your guests so they can decorate themselves right away. By the way, have your guests show up wearing clothes appropriate for your party. Think fluorescent and white clothing such as trousers, T-shirts, hats or ties/tie.

Of course, you will have music at your party and for that you need a suitable speaker. The party speaker JBL Encore is ideal for this. It is easy to operate, has nice light effects and great sound. Or play the famous beer pong game (also super fun to play without alcohol!) with fluorescent cups. You can also look into adding a fluorescent decoration to your snacks and drinks.
